Broadcast Engineer
Location: Based in Moncton, NB (Travel Throughout the Maritimes Required)
MBS Radio (Maritime Broadcasting System) is a proudly locally owned and operated group of 29 radio stations across the Maritimes. While some broadcasters are downsizing, we're growing-and we're in this for the long haul.
We're looking for a Broadcast Engineer to join our team, based out of Moncton. This is a hands-on, high-impact role that will see you traveling throughout the Maritimes, working shoulder-to-shoulder with our experienced engineering and IT teams to keep our stations on the air and performing at their best.
We do essential work. Our stations are trusted voices in the communities we serve. That's why we value accountability, responsiveness, and a no-nonsense approach to solving problems. We're a "roll up your sleeves and get it done" kind of company-and proud of it.
What You'll Do:
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain AM and FM broadcast equipment, studio gear, computers, and networks.
- Perform preventive maintenance both in studio and on-site across our Maritime stations.
- Ensure uninterrupted service and full compliance with Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) regulations.
- Design and optimize transmission systems-towers, antennas, output power levels, etc.
- Maintain accurate records, system diagrams, and documentation.
- Contribute to new installations, upgrades, and infrastructure planning.
- Work closely with producers, on-air talent, and technical staff to quickly resolve issues.
- Collaborate with the broader Engineering and IT team across Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and PEI.
What You Bring:
- Proven experience with RF systems and FM broadcast transmitters.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for studio and remote broadcast systems; familiarity with Axia IP audio and Wide Orbit automation is an asset.
- Solid knowledge of Windows Server environments, IP networking, and general IT infrastructure. Programming experience is a plus.
- Post-secondary education in Electronics, Computer Science, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-moving environment.
- Willingness to travel regularly across the Maritimes.
We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, and most importantly-stability, growth, and a supportive team that values what you bring to the table.
