Job Summary
As Manager III, Material Recovery Facility, you will:
- Oversee daily MRF operations, ensuring environmental safety, quality, and operational excellence.
- Manage direct reports (4-5 supervisors) and indirectly lead a workforce of 40-45 full-time staff.
- Control costs and drive continuous improvement to meet or exceed budget targets.
- Serve as the visible face of the plant for visitors, senior leadership, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership:
- Direct plant operations to meet production, quality, and safety targets
- Implement Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Financial Management:
- Own the P&L, drive cost-savings projects, and deliver 2-3% annual budget improvements
- Monitor KPIs and report performance to Area Leadership and U.S. executive team
- Team Development & Culture:
- Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing team from the ground up
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous learning
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Host plant tours and briefings for internal and external visitors
- Collaborate with Maintenance, Safety, and Environmental teams to ensure compliance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field - or 4 years of equivalent experience
- 7 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, recycling, or related operations
- Demonstrated success in Lean/CI methodologies
- Proven ability to recruit, develop, and lead large teams
- Strong financial acumen, P&L ownership, and KPI management
