Canadian Executive Search Group Inc. is seeking an experienced Plant Manager for a food production client in CK

Responsible for planning, leading, organizing and controlling production of manufactured goods, while creating

and maintaining a positive and productive work environment. The Operations Manager's goal is to ensure

effective and efficient business operations of the plant from manufacturing through to shipping and receiving.

This includes the conversion of raw materials, also responsible for evaluating readiness of supplies and

equipment making sure the plant runs efficiently.

KEY RESULTS AREAS:

OPERATIONS:

Responsible for communicating proper regulations to be carried out by employees ensuring

compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety and all other regulatory compliance.

Be the company champion, showing leadership through annual audits, training and monitoring the

company safety in compliance with Environmental Health and Safety procedures.

Ensure a leadership role in efficient practices and quality products as

needed.

Lead the operational team in the use of innovative technology, creating efficiencies as needed.

Effectively communicate with farm, logistics and sales team to meet supply chain demands.

Responsible for managing all aspects of inventory (i.e. count, Q&A and rotation).

FINANCE:

Responsible for strategic purchasing and maintaining of assets.

Assist with the creation of and maintain expense, R&M and wage budgets for the operations

department in line with established performance targets.

Assist with timely and accurate cost of production report for review by the Director of Operations

and report on all other operational matters to the Management and Advisory teams.

Regularly monitors key operational cost factors (i.e. energy usage, labour efficiencies).

HUMAN RESOURCES:

Responsible for hiring, coaching and developing qualified key manufacturing employees (i.e.

forklift drivers, shipper and receiver, production supervisors).

Follow the Performance Management Program policies when conducting performance appraisals,

determining wages and promotions from within including conducting quarterly PMP follow-up

discussions.

Proactively work with Regulatory Coordinator to comply with Food Safety, Workplace Health and

Safety training programs.

Plan schedules based on the number of employees required for production and number of shifts

required to complete orders.

Education

Requires a community college diploma (2 or 3 years), recognized apprenticeship or equivalent.

Experience

More than three years but less than five years of relevant experience required.

Complexity/Problem Solving

Work is diversified and complex, the employee works independently on general assignments usually

having been given broad objectives, instructions and policies. The employee develops solutions to

problems for major functions based on policies or past practices.
