St. Paul's Foundation is seeking an experienced Communications Officer, Digital/Social Specialist to be an integral part of an established, respected non-profit on the cusp of building an incredible new hospital, research complex, and health campus. The Digital/Social Specialist will join a small but mighty Communications team committed to delivering high-quality products and services.
- This is a Two-Year term, full time position with the potential for a two-year extension.
Position outline
As the successful candidate, you will work with the Director, Communications and Marketing and Manager of Communications and Marketing to grow our community awareness for a two-year period, specifically to support on execution of digital and social elements of the brand awareness campaign and public fundraising campaign to help achieve the goals for the new St. Paul's Hospital on the Jim Pattison Medical Campus.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support and execute digital campaigns by creating necessary creative executions for brand and fundraising campaigns, in support of the new hospital campus.
- Develop social media content strategies to align with brand and fundraising campaign business objectives and increase followers and impressions, plus enhances overall engagement.
- Create, curate, and manage engaging content for the Foundation's social media channels including multimedia content (images, videos, infographics).
- Manage and engage with community across all social channels by answering questions, replying to comments, resharing partner content, and collaborating with Providence Health Care partners on content development and amplification.
- Conduct routine competitive social audits and research to help inform strategy.
- Assist with major events such as Lights of Hope and Feast of Fortune by acquiring in -kind media sponsorships, developing contracts, executing materials and reporting on the success metrics of such sponsorships.
- Develop paid digital media and organic content strategies and materials for internal SPF teams including Annual Giving and Raffle.
- Serve as day-to-day point of contact with digital, web and media planning agencies as needed
- Review and analyze analytics and audience engagement to identify optimization opportunities within organic and paid content. Prepare regular reports on social media and campaign metrics and collaborate with the website specialist for full funnel reporting.
- Ensure quality control and brand consistency is maintained with digital content
- Develop annual budget and workplans for digital projects
Qualifications
- Four or more years of progressive experience in digital and social media communications, preferably in a non-profit environment.
- Proven experience creating in content that reaches business objectives and builds engagement and communities on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
- Proficiency in graphic design tools to develop digital content such as Canva, Illustrator, Indesign and Photoshop and a solid understanding of branding and the principles of good graphic design.
- Superior writing and editing skills in relation to creating digital and organic content.
- Experience in using a social media management tools like Sprout.
- Proficiency in project management and ability to complete multiple projects with tight deadlines.
- Excellent quantitative analysis skills and ability to apply learnings with proven experience in optimization strategies and executive reporting.
- Demonstrated initiative in problem-solving
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in working within Microsoft Office.
- Video editing experience considered an asset.
- Sound judgment and tact, and ability to handle confidential and sensitive material with discretion
