The Sales/Account Manager plays a hybrid role, blending proactive sales with hands-on account management to drive business growth and deliver exceptional client service. This role is ideal for a results-driven, consultative professional with a strong understanding of group benefits, particularly international and expatriate programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating new business, deepening broker partnerships, and managing an assigned portfolio of group benefits clients from implementation through renewal.

In this role, you'll get to experience:

Business Development & Sales Execution

  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through broker channels, referrals, and direct outreach.
  • Deliver compelling benefit presentations, demos, and product webinars to educate and engage prospective clients and partners.
  • Collaborate with underwriting and product teams to develop competitive, sustainable benefit proposals.
  • Align underwriting assumptions with client needs and operational realities to ensure accurate quoting and seamless onboarding.
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline in Salesforce, maintaining accurate activity logs and forecasts.
  • Support broker-led and direct marketing efforts to remarket, upsell, or expand coverage based on evolving client needs.

Client Relationship Management & Account Oversight

  • Serve as the lead relationship manager for a portfolio of clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction, engagement, and retention.
  • Lead client onboarding, implementation planning, and coordination with internal departments (Claims, Underwriting, Finance, Operations).
  • Conduct regular client touchpoints including quarterly business reviews and annual renewal meetings.
  • Partner with internal teams to resolve service issues, escalated claims, premium discrepancies, and policy clarifications.
  • Analyze plan performance and recommend cost containment, benefit design optimization, and strategic changes.

Strategic Account Growth & Insights

  • Provide actionable feedback from clients and brokers to inform product development, process improvement and service delivery.
  • Monitor competitive market trends and client feedback to identify opportunities for differentiation and value-added service.
  • Support cross-sell and upsell initiatives within accounts in collaboration with the broader Sales and Account Services teams.

What you bring:

  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in group benefits, ideally with international or expatriate exposure.
  • LLQP Life License required (required within 90 days of hire if not already licensed)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce.
