Financial Analyst

Duration: 18 Months

Location of Work: Waterloo, ON (Office based - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)

The opportunity:

As a Financial Analyst within client's Corporate Accounting team, you will play a key role in recording and analyzing employee-related expenses within the general ledger. This position also offers a unique opportunity to develop deep insights into corporate accounting, finance operations, and ERP systems, while driving process improvements through the development of automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Record and analyze employee-related expenses in the general ledger.

• Utilize ERP systems such as SAP and NetSuite to support financial processes.

• Help identify and implement automation solutions for process improvement opportunities across the finance function.

• Develop and use tools such as advanced Excel, Python, Java, RPA, Alteryx, and Power BI to enhance reporting capabilities and drive automation in current manual processes.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and acquired company finance teams to integrate processes and systems.

• Support accounting and finance initiatives related to mergers and acquisitions.

• Perform independent analysis and reporting as part of broader team initiatives.

• Gain exposure to a wide array of finance, accounting, and system operations across the organization.

• Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• 2+ years of experience in corporate accounting or financial analysis

• Proficient with ERP systems (SAP, NetSuite preferred)

• Advanced Excel skills; VBA/macro experience

• Experience with data analysis and automation tools (e.g., Python, Power BI, RPA)

• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and organizational abilities

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn

• Capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

• Works well both independently and collaboratively
