Currently we are looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join our team! Reporting to the Executive Vice President, the HR Generalist is responsible for all duties associated with Human Resources, Payroll and Reception/Office Services. Additional various duties include:
Processing and reconciling Canadian bi-weekly payroll for salaried and hourly employees using Ceridian Powerpay (currently 3 provinces); including all government remittances, audits, and year-end activities.
Benefit administration, reconciliation, and remittances; including RRSP/DPSP program.
Monitor and develop as needed policies and procedures to align with corporate culture, goals and long-term objectives. Continually monitor to ensure legislation compliance (considering provincial requirements), as well as benchmark against competitors.
Provide guidance on all HR related functions, including recruitment and orientation, terminations, succession planning, professional development, employee relations, etc.
Manage Annual Performance Management Program and Bonus Program.
Actively participate and lead Joint Health & Safety Committee and Health & Safety compliance for all buildings.
Assist Accounting team with reconciliations, expense management program (Concur), and annual audits.
Reception responsibilities include answering phone, greeting guests, delivering and coordinating mail/packages, managing office supplies including printers, ensuring our employee lounge is stocked, weekly employee lunch ordering, and assisting other tenants in building as necessary.
Office/building services and maintenance responsibilities include liaising with vendors (i.e., cleaning, lawn maintenance/snow removal, garbage removal, etc.) to ensure office and building environment remains safe, up to code, and functional.
The successful application will demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
Post-secondary education in Human Resources
CHRL certified would be considered an asset
Minimum of 5 years working experience in an entrepreneurial environment
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
Beginner knowledge of payroll/HRIS systems would be considered an asset
Customer focused attitude
Demonstrated ability to establish cross-functional, collaborative relationships
Assertive, well organized, highly motivated self-starter; able to work independently and meet deadlines
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
