Job Position Requirements:
We are looking for a talented lawyer with 1 to 3 years of call who are interested in practicing family law in a dynamic and supportive environment. This will be an in-person 12-month contract opportunity, with the possibility of extension, or becoming a permanent position.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Family Law Lawyer to assist with a variety of family law cases. This role offers a unique opportunity for a recent law graduate or lawyer with limited experience to gain hands-on experience in a family law practice while working closely with our senior lawyers. As part of a dynamic team, you will handle client cases, provide legal advice, and represent clients in family law matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and guidance on family law issues such as divorce, child custody, spousal support, and property division.
- Assist with the preparation of legal documents, including affidavits, pleadings, and settlement agreements.
- Attend client meetings, mediations, and court hearings as required.
- Conduct legal research and draft memorandums to support ongoing cases.
- Collaborate with senior lawyers and clients to develop case strategies.
- Keep clients informed about the progress of their cases and provide exceptional client service.
- Manage case files and ensure all deadlines are met.
Qualifications:
- A law degree from an accredited institution.
- Admission to practice law in Ontario.
- Experience in family law.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and drafting skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A compassionate and client-focused approach with attention to detail.
- A valid driver's license.
