PROFILE SUMMARY

The Production Controller will oversee production planning & production performance data analysis through the ERP system to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and timely manufacturing operations.

This role will focus on developing production schedules, monitoring material flow, and analyzing performance metrics to support the manufacturing director's strategic objectives, such as lean manufacturing, quality assurance, automation, capacity expansion and ultimately, on-time delivery.

The Production Controller will oversee production flow, to maintain smooth operations and provide actionable insights for decision-making. The Production Controller will work closely with the NPI & Production teams to manage resources, schedule setups, production runs, VAS processes, and monitor performance to ensure on-time delivery for customer orders with the highest rate of resource efficiency. The production controller will also ensure system data validity and integrity.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS

Develop and implement production schedules (including NPI) to meet customer demand while maintaining efficient production levels

Adjust production schedules daily to accommodate changes in priorities and resource constraints.

Coordinate with CGLs while enforcing production deadlines to ensure schedules align with shop floor capabilities

Coordinate with CGLs and other production supervisors and monitor WIP (work-in-progress) to ensure day to day production flow

Publish daily job dispatches and monitor production execution performance to update and improve schedules as required and report delays

Communicate production plans and priorities to relevant departments/stakeholders, ensuring clarity and execution

Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production output, cycle time, and OEE to maintain and improve production efficiency

Prepare detailed reports on production performance, production costs, and overhead (focusing on overtime reduction), for the manufacturing director to stay within budget.

Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize resource utilization to minimize indirect labor and maximize production efficiency

Utilize and analyze data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, or trends and areas of improvement

Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve production processes to reduce lead times.

Escalate critical issues (e.g., material shortages, capacity constraints) to the manufacturing director

Perform audits in the ERP system to ensure the data is accurate, up to date and complete

INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS PROFICIENCY:

In addition to GN Corporations Inc. corporate requirements and recommended industry practices, being knowledgeable in the following regulatory and international standards requirements will be an added asset:

  1. AS9100D (Aerospace)
  2. ISO 9001:2015 (Quality), I
  3. ISO 45001:2018 (Health & Safety),
  4. ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental)
  5. Controlled Goods Program

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Occupational Health and Safety - Understanding and applying the GN Corporations Inc. Health and Safety policy as well as being responsible for their own health and safety at work, to avoid adversely affecting the health and safety of others through any act or omission.
  • Industry Standards and Regulations - Being familiar with all relevant industry standards, recommended practices, and regulations. Monitoring self-compliance with company, industry and government requirements as well as promoting their acceptance in all aspects of GN's business-related activities.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Production Management, or a related field.

3-5 years of experience in production planning or a related field.

Strong leadership and communication skills.

Experience with production planning and scheduling.

Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.

Familiarity with safety, health, and environmental regulations.

Proficiency with MRP software.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
