What will you do?
• Schedules and leads APQP meetings: Pre Tool Run Meeting, Pre PPAP Run and Tool Trial Review Meeting, PPAP Run Review & Production Launch Meeting.
• Coordinates Pre-tool trial/PPAP activities ensuring all aspects of the new or revised product or process are ready and available prior to committing manufacturing line time including machine, tooling and component availability.
• Facilitates efficient use of manufacturing line time to achieve Tool Trial/PPAP objectives. Ref. QSP 1.1 and QSP 4.2.3.
• Prepares weekly build plan schedule and broadcasts to affected groups for planning purposes.
• Works with the production scheduling team to reserve manufacturing line time to support project timing milestones.
• Contributes ideas and suggestions to assist problem solving and troubleshooting activities on line.
• Records outstanding issues during tool trial and PPAP builds and documents in an electronic list to be reviewed at monthly management review meetings. Schedules monthly update meetings with responsible departments to ensure timely closure of outstanding issues. Maintains relevant statistics for performance tracking.
• Tracks actual build completion dates and enters into "Production Part Samples" database for performance metrics monitoring.
• Participates in quarterly Process Audits and submits detailed process review report. Ref SMF-030 Process Sign Off.
• Participates in continuous improvement projects as required.
• Other Responsibilities as assigned by supervision.
What will you bring?
• Post-Secondary education.
• Degree/diploma industrial or mechanical engineering would be an asset.
• 2 years relevant experience.
• Must have well developed computer skills including familiarity with Lotus Notes and Microsoft Office applications.
• Must have knowledge of the automotive industry and the APQP process.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills combined with logical approach to problem solving.
• Well developed people skills with a team building approach to resolving conflicts.
• Works well under pressure of deadlines and multiple priorities.
