Title: Software Engineer/ Power BI Developer_M Language

Type (Contract, C2H): 10+ Months

Shift/Core Hours: 40 Hours

Location: Toronto, ON- Hybrid

Compensation: $70-$77/hour

Day to day responsibilities:

• Writing code delivering requirements
• Unit testing

Must-have/key skills needed:

• Understanding Power Query/ M Language OR Software Engineer ( any coding language who can learn M language)
• Must have experience designing software or applications and code from scratch
• Experience building scalable applications
• Basic SQL queries
• Dealing with large data sets - relational database
• Software engineering i.e. Java background, Python or R.
• Engineering specifically- building software.
• Prior experience building applications designed from scratch.
• Writing the logic of the code.
• Design and development in M language from scratch.
• Hands on coding with M language - internal language of PowerBI
• SQL - for pulling data from a database
• JQL - for pulling data from JIRA

Pluses:

• Designing and writing code in another language, such as Java, but they only have a cursory familiarity with PowerBI is more valuable to me than a person who used PowerBI extensively but only in its graphical interface mode.
