Our client, a reputable law firm in downtown Toronto is seeking a Law Clerk with experience in litigation, preferably in Class Actions, to join their team.
Responsibilities
- Draft and prepare court documents including pleadings, motion records, certification materials, and affidavits of documents.
- Assist with file management, including maintaining litigation calendars, deadlines, and limitation periods.
- Coordinate service and filing of documents with courts and counsel.
- Conduct preliminary legal research and assist with investigation and evidence gathering.
- Communicate professionally with clients, class members, third parties, and co-counsel.
- Prepare materials for examinations, motions, and hearings.
- Support Lawyers in trial preparation and settlement implementation.
Requirements
- Law Clerk Diploma/Certificate from an accredited institution.
- 3-5+ years of relevant experience in Litigation (Class Actions).
- Proficiency in Ontario court procedures and Rules of Civil Procedure.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in handling voluminous records.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
