A dynamic and well-established organization is seeking a strategic and experienced Director, Human Resources to lead and enhance its people operations. This is a confidential search to identify a proactive HR professional who will play a critical role in supporting the evolving needs of a project-based workforce across multiple sites in downtown Toronto. This is a permanent part-time opportunity with onsite needs, 3 days per week (24 hours).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and oversee HR strategies, programs, and policies that align with organizational goals.
  • Provide expert counsel to management and employees on a range of complex HR matters, including conflict resolution, performance management, policy compliance, and employee relations.
  • Lead sensitive workplace investigations with discretion and professionalism, ensuring fair, thorough, and timely resolution of employee concerns.
  • Prepare and manage all documentation related to employee relations and liaise with legal counsel when necessary.
  • Monitor and analyze employee relations data to identify trends, uncover root causes, and recommend preventative or corrective strategies.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the senior leadership team, offering insights and guidance on organizational design, culture, and workforce planning.
  • Build strong partnerships with HR counterparts at affiliate locations to ensure consistency and alignment in employee experience and policy enforcement.
  • Manage the full cycle of project-based contract administration, including drafting, issuing, and tracking agreements.
  • Maintain and enhance the employee benefits program to ensure competitiveness and compliance with applicable laws and standards.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • A minimum of 8 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior advisory capacity.
  • Demonstrated expertise in employee relations, investigations, employment law, and organizational development.
  • Experience supporting project-based or creative/production teams is strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a consultative, solutions-focused approach.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
