Job Purpose:
The Product Owner is responsible for developing a customer experience for the Partnership team with a focus on personalized engagement and creating a seamless and impactful journey for our donors, fostering stronger relationships, increased satisfaction, and higher retention rates.
They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration, usability, and performance of the products.
The product owner will define the product strategy, analyze customer data, and prioritize features to meet business goals.
In this dynamic position, you'll be responsible for defining product vision and strategy, prioritizing features, and working with stakeholders towards successful product outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Strategic effectiveness & Backlog Management and Prioritization
- Develop and communicate a compelling product vision, aligning it with our mission to uplift vulnerable communities. Your strategic foresight will shape digital experiences that touch hearts and inspire action resulting in improving retention.
- Define product roadmap, growth opportunities, and key performance metrics based on delivering value.
- Drive innovation by translating thoughts and ideas into tangible requirements in the form of features, epics, capabilities, enablers and user stories.
- Actively participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily scrum meetings, sprint review and retrospectives, sprint demos, and lead the planning release for output delivery.
- Be the voice of the product. Share progress, gather feedback, and collaborate with Product Owners and other stakeholders to drive the product vision and roadmap. Your communication skills will bridge gaps and build strong, collaborative relationships.
- Set and manage expectations of stakeholders for delivery of new outputs, proactively identifying and communicating barriers to delivery and negotiating timeline, scope, resources and budget as required.
- Plan and coordinate product releases, including defining release goals, managing dependencies, and ensuring that releases meet quality standards and timelines.
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of digital products. Use data and feedback to make data-driven decisions and improvements.
- Prepare business cases and budgets based on scope of work and resource requirements and track project progress against them.
- Ensure that digital products meet high-quality standards, are thoroughly tested, and are aligned with the organization's values and goals.
- Go beyond managing - lead, mentor, and inspire your Agile team. You'll nurture talents and foster a culture where every idea is valued, and every team member feels empowered.
- Stay ahead of the curve in marketing, digital and humanitarian trends. Lead initiatives to refine our processes, always seeking ways to do more good, more efficiently.
Qualifications:
- University degree in Digital Marketing, Business Administration, Computer Science, or similar discipline.
- Proven experience as a Product Owner, with a minimum of 5 years in digital product development.
- Strong understanding of Lean Agile Scrum principles and methodologies.
- Solid understanding of SEO, digital best practices with a mobile first approach and WCAG accessibility requirements.
- Experience with digital analytic tools (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Hotjar, Siteimprove) and how to leverage insights into data driven decisions.
- Proficiency in product management tools and software (Product Plan, Jira, Confluence, Figma, Miro etc.)
- Experience with Adobe Experience Platform (AXP), specifically AEM, is an asset.
- Ability to manage financial and strategic execution (budgets, ROIs, resource allocation and multiple concurrent projects)

- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent Agile certification is an asset
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data driven decisions especially when needing to make trade-offs.
- Comprehensive understanding of current web technologies (e.g. HTML, Style Sheets CSS etc.)
- Creative and analytical thinker with the ability to provide solutions that meet customer needs.
- Highly collaborative and comfortable with both high-level planning and tactical execution.
- Able to excel in a dynamic environment while managing several projects simultaneously.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills to realize maximum value.
- Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written, and strong presentation skills.
- Able to navigate through conflicting priorities, turning ambiguity into clarity in a fast-changing environment.
- Experience creating detailed business cases to equip senior leadership decision making.
- Able to navigate the organization and influence through indirect leadership and relationship capital.
- Embraces a non-hierarchical approach, modelling transparency, collaboration and trust across the team.
