You will work closely with our teams to contribute to successful project outcomes.

About AGF:

At AGF, we're a trailblazing force in reinforcing steel and post-tensioning, with more than 75 years of excellence and over 50,000 successful projects completed. Renowned for our strong focus on health and safety, family spirit, and culture of innovation, we take pride in being part of many major construction projects in Canada and around the world.

Now, you might be thinking, "What's the deal with reinforcing steel (or rebar)?" Well, think of rebar as the backbone of a building. It's the essential element that strengthens concrete, keeping it from cracking and ensuring that buildings and infrastructure stand tall and strong for years to come.

In the Ottawa region, we have contributed to tons of projects, literally! From the Senators Canadian Tire Centre, the Ottawa light-rail transit, the General hospital, Canadian War Museum, Landsdowne Park, and beyond, our expertise spans a wide range of sectors, including institutional, industrial, civil engineering, commercial, and residential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review detailers drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with Canadian and government standards.
  • Release bar lists for the manufacturing of reinforcing steel, specifying lengths, diameters, and bending requirements;
  • Produce placing drawings based on Structural Drawings;
  • Schedule and plan the on-site delivery of rebar;
  • Draft Requests for Information (RFIs) for the Project Manager to communicate with clients;
  • Suggest and implement technical solutions to enhance site and project outcomes;
  • Monitor the drawing submission schedule in alignment with the project timeline;
  • Communicate regularly with Project Managers to provide updates and address any concerns.

About You - The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Degree or diploma in technical engineering, architecture, or building design;
  • Demonstrated experience with REVIT drawing preparation;
  • 0 to 2 years of experience in detailing rebar;
  • Proficiency in design and drafting using AutoCAD;
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills;
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical drawings;
  • Capacity to work under pressure and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
