Your New Company

A well-established Personal Injury law firm situated in Markham, Ontario, is currently seeking a Plaintiff Personal Injury Law Clerk to join their team. This position is fully remote, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work from home.

Your New Role

The Personal Injury Law Clerk will be responsible for managing plaintiff personal injury Accident Benefit and Tort matters, supporting 1 Partner and 1 Paralegal. Key responsibilities include drafting correspondence, LAT applications, AODs, and affidavits of documents. The role also involves filing trial records, scheduling motions, preparing notices and pleadings in Superior Court, and corresponding with insurers and other law firms. Additionally, the clerk will manage calendars, book discoveries, mediations, client meetings, and requisition medical assessments. Effective file management and client communication are essential aspects of this role.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Completion of an accredited Law Clerk program.
  • 3-5 years of experience in plaintiff personal injury Accident Benefit and Tort matters.
  • Advanced familiarity with the Rules of Civil Procedure and the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while paying attention to detail.
  • Confident and dependable, with strong initiative and ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented atmosphere.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated advanced writing skills to prepare legal correspondence and complete forms.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment when dealing with clients.
  • Positive and friendly demeanor.
  • Willingness to learn, educate, advance skills, and adapt to new responsibilities.
