About the Role
This role is critical to the creation and on-going maintenance of all regulatory, public and Indigenous consultation / engagement plans to support the effective implementation of permits necessary to operate. Reporting to the Corporate Relations Manager - this position is accountable for ensuring robust stakeholder consultation/engagement strategies are in place and executed according to the project and Asset timelines.
This role will support the ongoing development of the strategy for key engagement / permitting consultation plans working across businesses and functions within the company. It is critical to ensuring all regulatory, public and Indigenous consultation plans are developed and are effectively implemented to deliver the permits necessary to operate on schedule and support compliance during operations.
This role will also coordinate and support key engagements in the community during commissioning and start-up and moving into operations. As well as provide support for ongoing issue identification and dispute resolution with multiple stakeholders / Indigenous communities in relation to consultation and ongoing regulatory compliance.

You will use your expertise to:
- Work alongside Regulatory, Environment and Compliance teams, to develop strategies for communicating regulatory compliance and permitting consultation requirements, as required
- Execute on your deep working expertise of provincial and federal public and Indigenous consultation requirements
- Manage the overall integration within the company of mitigation and adaptive management required during consultation / engagement processes
- Be a contributing member of Corporate Relations team willing to jump in and lead team initiatives
- Support the process of continuous improvement as it relates to the consultation / engagement in support of regulatory compliance and permitting, as required
- Demonstrate deep cultural awareness of Indigenous groups and the company's journey towards the implementation of the Truth & Reconciliation Calls to Action
To be successful, you will have:
- 5+ years experience related to the consultation associated with regulatory and permitting in British Columbia
- Experience working in a large-scale, fast-paced environment with multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Proven track record in stakeholder / Indigenous consultation in highly regulated environments with senior internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to influence without direct responsibility
- Demonstrated resiliency, and skill in conflict resolution
- Mastery of integration and collaboration skills
- Highly adept at-risk management including risk communication
- Superior written and verbal communications skills
- Experience managing and responding to issues, emergency response and crisis as part of an integrated team
- Self-driven, outcome-focused, strong analytical and conceptual skills.
