Our client in the Non-Profit space is seeking a Bilingual Benefits Specialist to join their HR team. In this role, you will play a key part in managing and supporting the company's compensation, pension, and benefits programs. This position requires fluency in both French and English and is ideal for a detail-oriented HR professional with strong experience in benefits administration.You will support the Senior Vice President of Human Resources, while also contributing to various administrative and departmental functions. This is a dynamic role that blends strategic support with hands-on execution, particularly in the areas of employee benefits and HR data management.
This is a 12-month maternity leave contract with the possibility of extension, offering a competitive salary of up to $75,000 and requiring only two in-office days per month (in either Downtown Toronto or Scarborough).
Responsibilities:
- Manage new hire benefits enrollments and process benefits changes
- Handle employee terminations and related benefits offboarding
- Respond to employee inquiries related to benefits and pensions
- Coordinate pension calculations and support benefit information sessions
- Maintain accurate vacation records and administer the Service Award Program
- Assist with retiree benefits, leaves of absence, and health & safety concerns
- Act as a liaison with benefit providers for issue resolution
- Ensure HRIS and benefit provider portals are accurate and up-to-date
- Provide general administrative support to the SVP of Human Resources
- Assist with light office coordination tasks (e.g., mailroom, reception)
- Contribute to departmental projects and conduct HR-related research
- Internal: All employee levels, HR leadership, cross-functional departments
- External: Third-party benefit providers, retirees, supported organizations
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources or related field
- Bilingual in French and English (written and spoken) - required
- Minimum of 3 year's of benefits and compensation experience
- Strong knowledge of compensation, benefits, and pension administration
- Skilled in Excel and Word (including formulas, charts, and mail merges)
- Exceptional attention to detail and confidentiality
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong analytical and process-driven mindset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
