Hardware Senior Principal Consultant (Radio Performance)
Duration: 1 year long contract, possibility of conversion to fulltime
Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
Onsite/Hybrid/Remote: Onsite.
Job Description:
• Characterize radio components and assist in creating models and soft compensation factors/functions.
• Calibrate radios to meet performance and stability.
• Work with power amplifier designers to bias and tune the power amplifier.
• Work with designers to understand the radio link budget and integrate the radio components for performance and stability.
• Tuning of DPD and CFR algorithms.
• Assist the data path bring up from eCPRI to transceiver.
• Characterize radio performance/behaviour over temperature.
Essential Requirements:
• 5+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Knowledge and understanding of standards and requirements for cellular systems (LTE, NR) such as 3GPP and FCC.
• Fundamental understanding of digital signal processing, telecommunications, and microwave circuits.
• Experience with MATLAB and Python programming
• Experience with Automation
• Experience working with instruments such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, and power supplies
• Knowledge of fundamental RF measurements related to RX and TX.
• Experience working with radio components such as power amplifiers, FPGAs, Transceivers and RF filters.
• Experience working with RF equipment such as couplers, combiners, and attenuators.
• Experience working with Raspberry Pis, ARM processors or equivalent.
