About the Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor or designate, the Maintenance Planner is responsible for improving maintenance productivity through effective planning and scheduling of maintenance activities and resources. This position will focus on continuous improvement to design and implement excellent planning and scheduling practices for preventative, predictive, routine, and planned outage maintenance work at the Ascot Resources site. The Fixed Maintenance Planner will foster a health and safety culture of No Harm while ensuring compliance with provincial and federal regulations. This position works 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off, fly in & out.

Responsibilities

  • Plans work orders, identifies resource requirements, estimates costs, establishes work methods, and schedules workforce availability.
  • Maintains an accurate forecast that adheres to established maintenance strategies.
  • Manages work backlogs for accuracy, considering requirements related to parts, labour, permits, drawings, facilities, support equipment, special equipment, tooling, and instructions.
  • Works collaboratively with maintenance to build or improve detailed work packages.
  • Coordinates with supervisors on job priority establishing priority levels for the jobs to be completed and materials needed.
  • Tracks and reports Key Performance Indicators, bringing forward continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Commissions and decommissions equipment and their maintenance programs.
  • Upholds and follows safety policies, procedures, regulations, hazard identification, and promotes safety awareness through day-to-day attitudes and actions.
  • Keeps updated with industry best practices and new technologies to improve overall safety and efficiency and ensures compliance with Mines Act, policies, laws, provincial and federal legislation, and regulations.
  • Adjusts and establishes daily tasks to meet changing orders of priorities.
  • Works with electrical planner and mobile equipment planner to ensure overall site equipment availability.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Required

  • Strong mechanical skills and background with Journeyperson certification or formal technical qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience with process maintenance equipment planning.
  • High level proficiency in MS Project, Excel, Word, Microsoft business solutions, SAP, Internal CMMS systems.
  • Good knowledge and experience in Planning & Scheduling.
  • Good fixed plant knowledge to allow for detailed job planning & scheduling.

Preferred Skills

  • Fixed plant experience.
  • Valid Class 5 BC driver's license or equivalent.
  • Strong safety focus and accountable, dependable, and responsible.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to build positive and respectful relationships with a diverse workforce.
  • Unwavering commitment to safety, environment, sustainability, diversity, and inclusion principles.

  • Knowledge and understanding of environmental and safety provincial and federal legislation; and safety and environmental standards and legislation pertaining to the mining industry.
  • Adaptable to all office and outdoor work conditions, including exposure to elements such as snow, rain, sub-freezing weather, heat, and wind.
  • Perform periodic physical tasks including standing, bending, and moving for long periods of time, lifting, and moving up to 50 lbs. throughout a shift in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in a remote location and adapt to site-based work schedules.

Pay Range and Compensation Package

  • $110,000 - $120,000 per annum
  • STIP Bonus
  • Extended Medical Health/Dental/Vision 100% employer contributed
