Opportunity Northland is looking for a Data Engineer who will be a part of our Data & Analytics team.

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and architectures that enable efficient data collection, transformation, and analysis across the organization.

Your work will directly support our Data & Analytics initiatives by ensuring the availability, accuracy, and integrity of data from multiple sources.

This position is based in Vancouver, Canada and will report to the Manager, Data & Analytics.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines using modern data engineering tools (dbt, Azure Data Factory, Databricks) .
  • Architect and manage data warehouse and data lake solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Azure Synapse).
  • Collaborate with data analysts and business stakeholders to understand data needs.
  • Integrate data from diverse structured and unstructured sources (APIs, databases, cloud storage).
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance through validation and monitoring. Apply best practices in security, compliance, and privacy for sensitive datasets.
  • Optimize queries and data models for performance and scalability.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Experience working on Data projects; Understanding of data management, data modeling, BI and analytics concepts.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines and Medallion architecture.
  • Experience with Cloud Data Services and Big Data tools & technologies. Experience with the following specific technologies is a plus:
  • Snowflake
