Purpose of the role:

PHD is experiencing growth and seeking a talented individual to join our Performance team as a Paid Search Manager. Reporting to a Supervisor or Director, the Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all Paid Search deliverables are presented on time and of a high quality, and that all Paid Search advertising campaigns meet client objectives. This position will work closely with the Account Management and the Client Strategy & Development teams.

Managers will ensure that search advertising programs are tasked properly, completed as scheduled and meet or exceed all client goals. A successful Manager will have great attention to detail and be able to take complete ownership of the process of getting tasks completed to bring value to our clients.

The Role & Expectations

Communication & Collaboration:

Work and communicate verbally and in written form with internal and client teams during the development of campaign strategy and campaign execution

Identify and escalate technical issues through communication with internal teams

  • Be able to effectively communicate processes and tactics to peers, and junior members of the team
  • Exhibits solid communication skills in order to effectively present strategic and tactical plans to clients and internal teams

Accountability:

Lead team to complete thorough quality checks of campaign set up; billing system and in platform

Ensure timely and accurate campaign launch and delivery across the team.

Organize team to deliver all reports and insights to meet deadlines set by client teams. Displays organizational capabilities to track progress, execution and consistency of Paid Search advertising campaigns.

Financial Management:

  • Input billing information into Prisma
  • Manage campaign budget pacing
  • Lead analyzing and closing billing estimates
  • The ability to proactively prevent issues and produce solutions when needed

People Management:

  • Have strong program management and organizational skills being able to manage multiple projects at once
  • Lead and develop skills across your team being accountable for process
  • Work with vendors to identify new advertising opportunities for clients
  • Train junior team members

Media/Business Acumen:

  • Previous experience with Paid Search strategy and implementation, preferably in paid media campaigns
  • Possesses understanding of Paid Search advertising campaign management and optimization practices that can help clients meet their business goals
  • Understanding of business concepts and client objectives in order to identify campaign expansion opportunities
  • Demonstrates understanding of and ability to facilitate and manage forecasting, budgeting and pacing, campaign creation and optimization
  • Possesses well developed analytical ability to extract insight from data and plan next steps across multiple marketing mediums
  • Understanding of broader media planning and buying - to ensure integration / coordination with wider media objectives occur

Your Responsibilities

  • Compile data across Paid Search platforms and create weekly/monthly reports, including analysis for insights, optimizations and future strategy development
  • Demonstrates strategic insight to develop long term execution plans from client's stated business objectives and implement those plans
  • Assist in training new hires with fundamentals of paid search
  • Lead team members to develop campaign plans and strategies
  • Utilize campaign management tools to execute campaigns and improve overall performance
  • Campaign budget pacing
  • Develop interest targets following PHD and client-specific best practices
  • Upload and launch campaigns in appropriate platforms
  • Perform thorough quality checks to ensure accuracy of set up across team
  • Input campaign billing information into Prisma billing system
  • Monitor client, competitor and industry changes
  • Support ad-hoc data requests for forecasting, billing, promotional performance, etc.
  • Performs various other duties as assigned

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience in media with a focus on Paid Search and Performance
  • Post-secondary education is required, either diploma or degree
  • Strong technical understanding of basic Excel and Powerpoint skills
  • Understanding of agency ad-serving or social campaign management tools is a plus; Google Ads Editor, CM, Google Analytics, Kenshoo, Marin, Omniture, Ad Parlour
