New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking a seeking an experienced OT Systems Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operational technology systems, with hands-on experience of Rockwell automation systems, Cisco/Stratix switches, UCS and firewalls. The primary responsibilities will include designing, implementing, and maintaining OT Systems, ensuring their reliability, security, and efficiency. Strong understanding of Rockwell SCADA system - Factory talk, Historian, PI database, Cisco/Stratix switches, PowerFlex Drives and PAC systems is compulsory.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, implement, and maintain Rockwell Control Systems in accordance with industry best practices and company standards.
  • Maintain, program and update Rockwell PLC systems using Ladder Logic, STL, FBD, and SCL to ensure optimal support for Operations and Maintenance teams.
  • Manage and update SCADA logics according to operation's requests ensuring compliance to industry standards.
  • Create automation programming for HMI, Historian, VFD, PC, and other automation systems that may be required.
  • Manage Cisco switches and Stratix Switches to ensure the integrity and security of OT networks.
  • Flexible, able to work on occasional night shift or on-call.
  • Manage and design traffic egress and ingress using networking protocols like EtherNet/IP, TCP/IP, SMTP, SNMP, CIPs (industrial protocols), ARP, BGP DCHP, DNS, EIGRP, OSPF.
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders in Neptune - OPs, Maintenance, Vendor SMEs and OEMs ensuring seamless operation and interoperability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, including performance optimization, connectivity problems, and security incidents.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for all network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs), and maintain accurate inventory of all OT assets including HMI devices and PLCs.
  • Maintain and manage system backups, cyber protections, and ensure that critical infrastructure is sufficiently air gapped.
  • Manage tasks efficiently, meet deadlines, and give updates to your lead and project managers.
  • A good understanding of Cisco Firewalls and UCS servers will be an added advantage.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, coupled with the ability to manage conflict and diffuse situations appropriately.
  • A good understanding of the PURDUE module, OSI and industrial reference architecture.
  • An excellent understanding of Ladder, STL, FBD and SCL
  • An excellent understanding of Rockwell SCADA management system.
  • Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of industrial systems and their specifications.
  • Experience working with industrial or logistical operations systems to effectively assess and implement IT/OT applications that computerize and simplify workflows for critical business activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to uphold the highest degree of ethics and integrity.
  • Demonstrated skill in business acumen including a high degree of professionalism, sound judgment, critical thinking and confidentiality.
  • Strong ability to analyze complex situations, identify key issues, prioritize, and bring solid solutions to the table.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Control Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, and/or Computer Engineering, (Equivalent experience will be considered).
  • 7+ years of experience working as an industrial (Controls) systems engineer.
  • 7+ years of experience in Information Technology field.
  • Strong understanding of Rockwell industrial System and Cisco/Stratix security appliances and their configuration for OT network protection.
  • Strong understanding of Rockwell control architecture and their integration into OT networks.
  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
