SUMMARY OF THE POSITION

As an Equipment Sales Representative, you will be the frontline contact for fire departments and emergency responders seeking industry-leading equipment and protective gear in your territory. You will represent some of the most respected brands in the industry and provide expert guidance across a wide range of products-from extrication tools (Holmatro), thermal imaging cameras (Teledyne Flir), PPV Fans (Blowhard) to SCBA (Draeger), Hose (Niedner), nozzles (Akron), and much more.

Your role includes direct customer visits, product demonstrations, participation in trade shows, and ongoing relationship management. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, highly organized, and excels at consultative selling within a professional and technical environment.

This is a field-based sales position that involves regular travel throughout Southwestern Ontario and occasional travel to the United States for training and supplier events.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships with fire departments; both municipal & industrial clients.
  • Provide in-field demonstrations and technical guidance on products including extrication rescue tools, thermal imaging cameras, self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), gas detection, PPV Fans, PPE (helmet, hoods, gloves, boots), hose, nozzles, foam/encapsulator, fire blankets and more.
  • Manage the full sales cycle-from product presentations and quoting to closing and post-sale support.
  • Respond to inquiries, tenders, and quote requests in a timely, professional manner.
  • Support department budgeting efforts by providing accurate estimates and long-term procurement planning tools.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and inside department to ensure smooth order processing and customer satisfaction.
  • Represent the company at trade shows and fire service events, strengthening brand visibility and industry connections.
  • Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and product developments to maintain expert-level knowledge across all equipment categories.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Experience in B2B sales or account management, ideally within the fire service, emergency services, or industrial safety sectors.
  • Hands-on knowledge or mechanical aptitude with firefighting tools or technical equipment is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, especially with public safety professionals.
  • Comfortable with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite for managing sales pipelines and customer interactions.
  • Organized and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and manage a territory effectively.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel, including occasional trips to the United States for product training.
