A leading company is seeking an experienced and results-driven General Manager to lead operations at one of their flagship locations. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity to drive performance, lead a large, diverse team, and deliver an exceptional customer experience in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on, metrics-focused leader with strong operational experience in general merchandise. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, offering consistency while managing a busy, high-performing store.
Description
- Lead overall store operations, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and store-level execution
- Recruit, train, and develop department managers and frontline team members to achieve operational excellence
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance and labor productivity, adjusting as needed to hit targets
- Oversee merchandise flow, planograms, in-stock levels, and seasonal transitions
- Ensure adherence to loss prevention, safety, and compliance protocols
- Execute promotional campaigns, pricing strategies, and brand standards consistently across all departments
- Analyze financial reports, identify trends, and implement corrective action plans to drive profitability
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and high performance across the entire store team
- Represent the brand within the local community and build strong customer relationships
Requirements
- 5+ years in a senior retail management role, preferably in a big-box or general merchandise format
- Proven leadership experience managing large teams (50+ staff), with strong coaching and performance management skills
- Financial and operational acumen, with a track record of achieving revenue, margin, and efficiency goals
- Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to change in a fast-paced retail environment
- Strong communication and decision-making skills
- Based in Winnipeg, MB.
