Marketing & Engagement Lead, Queer Business BC

Organization: Queer Business BC (Formerly known as LOUD Business BC)

Location: Remote with monthly in-person commitments in Vancouver, BC

Compensation: $30/hour

Hours: Part-time (up to 25 hours/week or 100 hours/month)

About the Role

Queer Business BC is seeking a creative, organized, and community-focused Marketing & Engagement Lead to join our growing organization. This flexible part-time role is ideal for someone passionate about 2SLGBTQIA+ visibility, storytelling, and community engagement.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Marketing & Engagement Lead will help develop and deliver inclusive digital communications, manage our online presence, and support event and member engagement activities.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Strategy & Social Media Management

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to continuously action, develop, and refine engagement strategies for both organization-wide and project-specific campaigns
  • Oversee QBBC's online presence (WordPress website, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.), including content planning, copywriting, scheduling, posting, updates, community engagement, and reporting

Newsletter & Email Marketing

  • Design and manage monthly newsletters via MailChimp
  • Write and edit content, manage delivery schedules, and align messaging with programming and partnership requirements
  • Track and report on performance metrics

Event Communications & Support

  • Assist with the planning and delivery of QBBC's monthly networking and education events
  • Create event-specific communications including but not limited to invitations, web copy, surveys, and branded assets

Membership Communications & CRM

  • Support member engagement through email communications and contact management
  • Support in ensuring CRM data and programming align with member and organizational needs

Other

  • Provide support with other tasks as needed

Who We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in digital marketing, communications, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook)
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with experience in content creation
  • Proficiency in WordPress, Mailchimp, and basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva)
  • Experience working collaboratively and managing multiple priorities
  • Familiarity with the experiences and needs of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community

Nice to Have

  • Experience with CRM systems or contact databases
  • Experience supporting events and/or nonprofit programming
  • Knowledge of accessibility and inclusivity best practices
