One of our clients is a US-based global producer and distributor of horticultural products (ornamentals, annuals, seeds, and flowers). Due to an internal promotion, they are looking for a Regional Account Manager based in Ontario, Canada that will function as a brand advocate type located in that can represent a product line throughout Canada.
The Role:
- Remote; based in Ontario
- Periodic travel up to 50%; focused in Ontario and BC but will include trips to other provinces.
- Must be authorized to be able to travel in the United States to the corporate office and trade shows.
Responsibilities :
- Supporting and expanding sales by working with distribution partners, growers, greenhouses & nurseries, and retailers throughout Canada.
- Develop plans and strategies for sales growth in the regions, with input into forecast and budget.
- Actively promote and support the sale and use of products with key growers, primarily suppliers of larger retail customers, grower councils, and provide key grower account support.
- Represent the company (including preparing and delivering presentations to groups to promote products) at marketing and trade events including (but not limited to):
- Spring pack trials
- Trade shows
- Field trials
- Advanced trial meetings
- Regional grower meetings
- Coordinate sampling of new and existing varieties to growers and other influencers to demonstrate the performance attributes of new and existing products.
The ideal candidate :
- BS/BA in Horticulture (or technical equivalent) plus
- 2-10 years of either:
- Annual/perennial production
- Growing
- Trialing
- Product line management
- Sales
- Business development
- Account management
- Open to candidates looking for more of a customer-facing opportunity
Compensation :
- Salary range: $60,000 - $100,000 CAD
