Fleming Door (an ASSA ABLOY brand) is expanding the Operations Team. We are adding a Production Supervisor for our afternoon shift. This role will be based on-site at our manufacturing facility located in Woodbridge, Ontario.
What would you do as our Production Supervisor - Afternoon Shift?
You will be responsible for ensuring the operations and production, including leading a team, ensuring the quality of product, achieving production goals, and ensuring on time delivery, labor, and safety.
You would also:
- Plan and assign daily tasks to area employees to achieve the daily schedule and departmental goals, while maximizing production efficiency
- Ensure customer orders are completed correctly, in an efficient manner, and on time
- Train, motivate, monitor and evaluate performance of staff, ensuring their ability to safely perform their functions
- Foster a safety culture and the implementation of safety policies and training to eliminate work related injuries.
- Create and report prescribed metrics (daily, weekly and monthly)
- Identify and proactively raise productivity issues and trends; recommend alternatives for improved performance.
- Actively participate in process improvement projects to achieve cost savings in labor and materials
- Promote positive employee relations, communication and teamwork across all shifts and levels
- Ensure compliance with Company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, health and safety and inventory management
- Perform other duties as required

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Post-secondary Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing supervision or management level role with a demonstrated ability to lead people within a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated experience implementing lean manufacturing techniques and process improvement initiatives
- Experience in a unionized environment preferably within metal forming, building materials, doors and/or door components would be a huge benefit
- Experience with work planning and production scheduling
- Exceptional leadership presence and decision-making skills to motivate, influence, and train people
- Previous working knowledge of CNC equipment and programming
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to interact well with customers
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high growth industry; willing to be hands-on and take initiative
- Proficient in MS Office suite, ERP software and reporting tools
