This job is a relocation opportunity with Edmonton Public Schools and requires relocation to Edmonton, Alberta.

Position Summary

The Speech Language Pathologist (known internally as Speech Language Pathology Consultant) will work as a member of the Specialized Learning Supports school-linked teams to provide trans-disciplinary support to school personnel serving students with diverse learning needs who are in Kindergarten through Grade 12.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
providing consultative services and supports to schools and families for children in Kindergarten classrooms through to Grade 12 who have speech and/or language difficulties
providing intervention and assessments
recommending communication strategies and programming for students with complex learning needs through collaborative partnerships with teachers and other professionals
training, coaching and mentoring educational assistants and speech language assistants in the implementation of targeted and specialized strategies
providing expertise to the learning team in the areas of specific communication disorders, expressive language, receptive language, literacy, social communication, speech sound production, and augmentative and alternative communication
discussing, demonstrating, modeling and providing communication strategies to support adaptations and modifications of the curriculum

Education/Qualifications
Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology
registered with Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists
minimum of three years related experience in classroom-based service delivery to children and youth
excellent communication, collaboration and consultative skills
experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication

MULTIPLE POSITIONS AVAILABLE.

These positions are for the 2025-26 school year.

Note: Access to a vehicle for travel between locations is required.
