Job Title: IT Manager - Application Support, Development & Business Systems
Role: Full time permanent
Hybrid: Toronto office (4 days per week in office)
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and manage a team of IT professionals in business analysis, systems analysis, application configuration, and software development.
- Define a framework for delivering solutions, including resourcing, development standards, and business analysis practices.
- Oversee the application life cycle, providing input on technology investments, upgrades, and retirements.
- Collaborate with other IT managers to ensure strategic process alignment and interoperability across the organization.
- Project & Resource Management
- Plan, negotiate, and manage IT project requirements, including budgets, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Assign internal staff and external resources to projects, balancing organizational needs with individual development goals.
- Monitor team capacity and adjust resources to meet project demands.
- Recruit and staff permanent roles, partnering with HR and external agencies as needed.
- Operations & Delivery
- Provide administrative oversight for daily IT operations within the department.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination with other IT groups to deliver required environments, implement solutions, and support installed applications.
- Enforce adherence to defined escalation and problem-resolution procedures.
- People Development
- Identify individual and team development needs; create opportunities to support career growth and skill development.
Qualifications:
- University degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent of 10+ years of relevant work experience.
- Extensive experience in application support and IT systems development.
- Strong understanding of organizational goals, human resources management, and project management principles.
- Proven leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills (both written and oral).
- Ability to research IT trends and solutions, and present recommendations in business-friendly terms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail.
- Highly self-motivated, organized, and able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional customer service orientation and a collaborative mindset.
- Familiarity with IFS or other Field Service Management software is a plus.
