We are seeking a part-time consultant with Data Engineering skills to help with out Microsoft Fabric implementation.
Location: Remote
Allocation: Part time (approx 50% - flexible hours)
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable Data Warehouses and Lakehouse architectures using Microsoft Fabric.
- Develop end-to-end data pipelines and data flows to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
- Perform data profiling and analysis, including inventory analysis, classification, and dictionary mapping to ensure data quality and consistency.
- Work with business users to support data cleansing, enrichment, and transformation initiatives.
- Create and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support business intelligence and analytics needs.
- Ensure data solutions are secure, compliant, and aligned with enterprise data governance standards.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Dataflows Gen2, and pipeline orchestration.
- Solid understanding of data warehouse and lakehouse architectures.
- Proficiency in Power BI for building interactive reports and dashboards.
- Experience in data profiling, metadata analysis, and data classification techniques.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with large-scale structured and semi-structured datasets.
- Ability to communicate effectively with business stakeholders and translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Familiarity with data governance and data quality best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, or other Microsoft data services.
- Background in data modeling (star/snowflake schemas) and ETL/ELT best practices.
- Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages for data engineering tasks.
