Currently we are looking for a new Senior Documentation Specialist to join our team! Reporting to the Vice President of Development, the Specialist is responsible for handling Domestic and International legal requirements with respect to Lease and Franchise documents on behalf of IFB. Additional various duties include:
Responsible for all aspects of lease documents (offer to lease, lease, sub-lease and landlord consent, etc.)
Responsible for all aspects of franchise documents (USA and Canada, disclosure compliance, new franchisees, default notices, notice of terminations, resales, assignments, amending, etc.)
Ensure accuracy of rental invoices
Ensure compliance with current legislation
Maintain a detailed filing system and lease/franchise database
Ensure timely turn-around of new, renewal and resale lease and franchise documentation
Responsible for various registrations as it relates to the franchise corporations and affiliated (annual resolutions, minute books, provincial annual filings, and provincial representatives law firms, USA companies, business name registration, trademark registrations, intercompany licences, etc.)
Administer insurance programs of all locations; including corporate insurance as required
Liaise with outside counsels
Legal information gathering, due diligence, support to other departments and auditors, communication and negotiation with different stakeholders, and prepare reports when required
Other duties as assigned
The successful application will demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Post-secondary education in related field
Experience working with leases and franchise agreements within a QSR environment
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
Customer focused attitude
Demonstrated ability to establish cross-functional, collaborative relationships
Assertive, well organized, highly motivated self-starter; able to work independently and meet deadlines
Extremely detail oriented person with the ability to manage multiple projects
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
