Compensation:
CAD 21 - 30/hour.

Responsibilities and more:
Eyewear Consultation and Sales:
- Assist patients in selecting eyeglasses and sunglasses that fit their style, prescription, and lifestyle needs.
- Recommend appropriate lens types (e.g., progressive, blue-light blocking) and frame styles.
- Provide guidance on product features, benefits, and care instructions.
Prescription Interpretation:
- Interpret and analyze prescriptions from optometrists or ophthalmologists.
- Ensure accuracy and proper adjustments are made to lens orders.
Frame Fitting and Adjustments:
- Measure patients for eyeglass frames and ensure proper fit and comfort.
- Make frame adjustments, including nose pads, temple arms, and overall alignment.
Lens Verification and Quality Control:
- Inspect incoming lenses to ensure they meet the patient's prescription and quality standards.
- Verify lens accuracy using lensometers or other measurement tools.
Order Management and Inventory:
- Place, track, and manage lens and frame orders with suppliers.
- Maintain inventory of frames, lenses, and accessories, ensuring stock availability.
Repair and Maintenance:
- Perform minor repairs on eyeglasses, such as replacing screws, nose pads, and tightening frames.
Customer Service and Patient Education:
- Provide excellent customer service and respond to patient inquiries.
- Educate patients on how to care for their lenses, frames, and any protective coatings.
Technical Skills and Use of Equipment:
- Use lensometers, pupilometers, and other optical tools to measure and verify prescriptions.
- Work with software systems for patient records, sales, and order tracking.
Compliance and Professional Standards:
- Adhere to industry regulations, health and safety standards, and optical licensing requirements.
- Maintain professional conduct and uphold confidentiality with patient information.
Collaboration and Team Support:
- Work closely with optometrists, ophthalmologists, and other team members to ensure a seamless patient experience.
- Assist in cross-functional roles, such as training new employees or helping at the front desk when needed.
Administrative Tasks:
- Process payments, handle insurance claims, and manage billing for optical products.
- Document patient interactions and update patient files in the clinic's system.
