Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced leader to joining us for the position of Associate Superintendent of Learning Services. Reporting directly to the School Board, the Associate Superintendent of Learning Services is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team. This role involves overseeing curriculum implementation, instructional leadership, and professional development across all grades. The successful candidate will provide strategic and hands-on leadership to enhance teaching and learning while aligning practices with both Alberta Education standards and the school's faith-based mission.
Position open to: Teachers, Principals, and Superintendents.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of instructional strategies and programs from Kindergarten to Grade 12.
- Support school administrators and teachers in curriculum delivery, pedagogy, assessment practices, and classroom innovation.
- Oversee Learning Services departments such as literacy, numeracy, ELL, inclusive education, and new curriculum rollout.
- Promote culturally responsive teaching and integrate the school's values into learning outcomes and character education.
- Ensure compliance with Alberta Education requirements and provide guidance on implementing new policies, programs, and assessments.
- Collaborate with the school leadership team to support teacher growth, supervision, and evaluation.
- Facilitate staff development and training aligned with current best practices and the school's strategic plan.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with families, staff, and the faith-based community to support student success.
- Participate in the development and implementation of the school's long-term education and operational plans.
- Oversee department budgets and manage resources responsibly in collaboration with the finance team.
- Support recruitment, mentoring, and performance development of instructional staff.
- Represent the school with Alberta Education and other educational partners as required.
Qualifications
- Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate.
- Master's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience, including experience as a school principal or system leader.
- Deep understanding of the Alberta curriculum and educational best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to lead with empathy, integrity, and cultural sensitivity.
- Experience working in a faith-based or values-driven educational setting is an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative leadership style.
- Proven capacity to implement system-wide initiatives and lead change effectively.
