Job Description:

Our client is looking for a strong Director of Accounting with strong financial accounting and analytical skills responsible for overseeing the full-cycle accounting and certain financial planning and analysis functions for their management companies located in Canada, US, UK and Asia Pacific.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Overseeing all aspects of daily, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting for the businesses including month and year-end processes, remittances and reconciliations
  • Quarterly and annual IFRS financial statements for the management companies
  • Manage the external audit process
  • External regulatory and statutory reporting/filings and final delivery to key stakeholders
  • Annual statutory (tax) financial statements, support internal and external tax consultants as required
  • Cash management initiatives and forecasting and ensuring sufficient funds to meet operational requirements
  • Oversee monthly analysis of actuals to budget/forecast for the consolidated results of the management companies
  • Certain aspects of quarterly reporting to parent company
  • Assign financial statement line items for the budget/forecast process, liaising with internal departments to obtain reasonability of key inputs
  • Review journal entry posts
  • Provide leadership and coaching to a team

    Job Requirements:

  • University degree in business/accounting
  • Designated with either CPA, CA; CPA, CMA or CPA, CGA
  • 10+ Years of experience in Accounting and Finance
  • Experience with Hyperion, particularly with HFM and JD Edwards (JDE) a must
  • Advanced Excel Skills
  • Real Estate industry experience a strong asset
  • Strong time management, organization skills and the ability to handle multiple competing priorities
  • Strong communication/interpersonal skills (both written and verbal) as this position involves frequent communications with all levels of management and other departments
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and troubleshoot/determine solutions where required
