Job Title: Instrumentation Technician & Future Leader - Support Superstar
Location: Calgary, AB (Hybrid - Mostly On-Site with Some Remote Flexibility)
Company: WJF Instrumentation Ltd.
Who We Are:
At WJF Instrumentation Ltd., we're a small, dynamic team in Western Canada obsessed with solving analytical and process measurement challenges. We specialize in cutting-edge instrumentation - think water quality analyzers, gas detection, flow meters, and process valves - and pride ourselves on delivering innovative solutions with a personal touch. We're not a sprawling corporation; we're a close-knit crew looking for someone who's ready to grow with us.
Who You Are:
You're a hands-on problem-solver who loves the variety of a small company - one day you're calibrating instruments, the next you're helping a customer or shipping a package. But you're also ambitious, with an eye on the future. You're growth-minded, eager to take on more responsibility, and excited to eventually step into a leadership role. Most importantly, you're looking for a place to plant roots - a company where you can build a long-term career, not just a pit stop.
What You'll Do:
- Handle preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of process control instruments.
- Provide inside/outside sales and top-tier customer support - you're the go-to for client solutions.
- Pitch in across the board - from systems admin and shipping/receiving to whatever the day throws at us.
- Work Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM, mostly in Calgary, with some remote flexibility.
- Travel occasionally to the USA, UK, or EU for training (growth starts with learning!).
What You Bring:
- Journeyperson or Instrumentation Certificate (or Apprentice Instrumentation card).
- Valid safety tickets: CSTS 2020, H2S Alive, Standard First Aid (bonus points for AWP, Fall Protection, TDG, WHMIS, CSO).
- 3-5 years of success as an instrumentation technician and/or in inside/outside sales.
- Experience with process control instrumentation, troubleshooting, and calibration.
- Physical capability for the job - lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, bending, etc.
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal) and a sharp eye for detail.
- A technical diploma (or equivalent) in instrumentation or a related field.
- A proactive, team-player mindset with the ambition to lead someday.
Why Join Us?
We're small, but we're growing - and we want you to grow with us. This isn't just a job; it's a chance to wear multiple hats, master your craft, and eventually take the reins in a leadership role. We're looking for someone who's in it for the long haul - a key player who'll help shape our future while thriving in a supportive, hands-on environment.
