We are seeking an Inside Sales Representative : to develop sales, profitability and contractual penetration throughout all sites of an agreed geographic territory in Western Canada; to maximize each new account's committed spend potential; to identify, win and develop profitable business in accordance with the expectations established by the Sales Manager; to develop a thorough understanding of the S.P. Richards organization, its value proposition and to respect company guidelines and regulations while applying your new business generation skills and talent.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • To consistently achieve monthly revenue and margin targets;
  • Ensure the retention and growth of exsisting customer accounts;
  • Evaluate the needs of each customer, follow up and propose a product purchase agreement;
  • Ensure that customers have all necessary and up-to-date documentation (catalog, price list, etc.);
  • To prospect and develop new business in our exsisting Office Products channel;
  • To prospect and develop new business in alternative channels areas outside of our traditional Office products channel (for example: Hardware, Pharmacy, JanSan Dealers, Grocery);
  • To manage opportunities, negotiations and oversee implementation of prospected new wins, above a value agreed with the Sales Manager;
  • To ensure that business opportunities are managed and responded to in a timely and accurate manner;
  • To plan their weekly prospecting activity and anticipate tenders in all geographic locations in Western Canada;
  • To update E-Prospector database on a regular basis and maintain a prospect database;
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary degree in Business or Commerce and/or equivalent working experience (recommended minimum 5 years);
  • Proven track record of achievement in sales, selling into all levels of corporate accounts dealing with contacts at different levels;
  • Experience dealing with detail contractual requirements and reporting within customer portfolios;
  • Computer proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Ability to analyze and manipulate data (Excel spreadsheets) and extract important details/trends to determine appropriate strategy;
  • Ability to quickly learn and retain knowledge of company objectives, group organizational structure, philosophy, sales proposition, systems and procedures;
  • Clearly articulate SP Richard's value proposition;
  • Excellent knowledge of local market place and competition in office/facilities supplies sector;
  • Must have a vehicle license as there is a need to be mobile and work in different locations as required;
  • Bilingual (English and French), a plus.

  • Ability to multitask, co-ordinate support team members, and meet multiple deadlines with minimal lead time;
  • Demonstrate clear, pragmatic thinking, and develop action plans in line with achieving sales and margin targets;
  • Ability to behave in a professional, courteous and personable manner while remaining assertive and able to build trust and respect quickly;
  • Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills;
  • Ability to plan work in a coordinated and efficient manner so that results are achieved within deadlines, to the required quality standards and cost effectively;
  • Proven ability to sell and negotiate at all levels within the company hierarchy, especially at the senior executive level;
  • Possess a hunting and positive winning attitude.
