Job Title: Maintenance Technician - Residential

Location: Toronto/ Etobicoke, ON

Tenure: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: $53,000 - $54,000/annually

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily inspections of the property, including mechanical and electrical equipment, and address any maintenance issues.
  • Perform general repairs, including plumbing, electrical work, HVAC system maintenance, and carpentry.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and safety of all common areas, exterior grounds, and parking areas.
  • Assist in preparing vacant units for new tenants by performing necessary repairs and maintenance.
  • Maintain and update maintenance records, work orders, and reports.
  • Respond promptly to resident maintenance requests in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Coordinate and oversee subcontractors and service providers for specialized maintenance work.
  • Conduct seasonal property maintenance, such as snow removal and irrigation system management.
  • Participate in fire and life safety procedures and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Maintain an inventory of essential supplies and ensure timely ordering when needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in property maintenance, building operations, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical repairs, plumbing, and general building maintenance.
  • Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) or Direct Digital Controls (DDC) is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel for reporting and record-keeping.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair maintenance issues efficiently.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Certifications such as BES 1 & 2, BOMI SMC & BEC, or related HVAC/electrical training are preferred.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Residential Tenancies Act, Building Code, Fire Code, and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
