POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Trade Marketing Manager to join our team Zavida Coffee Company, based in either Toronto or Montreal. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategic trade marketing initiatives that drive sales growth and enhance brand presence in retail markets. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong collaboration skills and a keen understanding of the CPG industry.

ROLE SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement trade marketing strategies aligned with sales targets, focusing on in-store promotions and displays to maximize product visibility and consumer engagement.
  • Develop financial business cases and detailed cost breakdowns for new projects, proposing solutions aligned with company profitability targets.
  • Work closely with sales and finance teams to develop competitive pricing strategies.
  • Manage customized price lists tailored to different retail customers to ensure market competitiveness.
  • Provide the sales team with trade marketing materials and training to effectively promote products and engage with retail partners.
  • Partner with sales teams to enhance product knowledge and promotional effectiveness.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of in-store promotions, sampling, and events to boost consumer engagement and drive sales.
  • Coordinate with retail partners to ensure seamless implementation of promotional activities.
  • Act as a liaison between sales, marketing, finance, and operations to ensure alignment and smooth execution of trade marketing activities.
  • Monitor retail performance, competitor activities, and consumer behavior to adjust strategies for optimal results.
  • Provide regular reports and analysis on market trends and performance metrics.
  • Evaluate the profitability of trade marketing initiatives, track ROI, and ensure activities stay within budget.
  • Ensure effective product placement on shelves, maintaining optimal visibility and overseeing the distribution of POS materials.
  • Develop merchandising guidelines to ensure brand consistency across retail environments.
  • Support new product introductions and innovative campaigns, ensuring effective execution and alignment with sales objectives.
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop strategies that highlight new products and innovations.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years in trade marketing or related roles within the CPG industry, preferably in coffee or beverage sectors.
  • Fully bilingual in French and English.
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and proficiency in data analysis tools.
  • Creative thinker with a strategic mindset, capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and Internet Explorer. Previous experience working with CRM or ERP system is considered an asset.
  • Good judgment and professionalism.
  • Friendly and customer focused attitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team and independently.
