Service Transition Contractor

Start Date: As soon as possible

As a Service Transition Contractor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and controlled introduction of new or modified IT services into production. Your expertise will minimize risks, ensure operational readiness, and enforce best practices for service transitions. You will work closely with project teams, service owners, and operations to maintain business stability during IT service implementations.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate service transition activities for new or modified IT services.
  • Ensure services meet operational and business requirements before deployment.
  • Develop and execute transition plans, including documentation, training, and stakeholder communication.
  • Conduct go-live readiness assessments and ensure risk mitigation strategies are in place.
  • Work closely with Change and Release Management to align transition activities with deployment schedules.
  • Assess the impact of changes on existing services and ensure seamless integration into production.
  • Support teams in adhering to ITIL best practices for Change and Release Management.
  • Ensure compliance with ITIL frameworks for Service Transition.
  • Identify and implement improvements in transition processes and documentation.
  • Support automation initiatives to enhance service transition efficiency.
  • Act as the primary contact for service transition-related activities.
  • Engage with development, operations, and business teams to ensure smooth adoption of new services.
  • Communicate transition plans, risks, and updates to stakeholders.

Education and Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience in Service Transition, IT Service Management (ITSM), or Change & Release Management.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT service operations, offering deep insight into the end-to-end service lifecycle.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with ITIL Service Transition, ensuring smooth service deployment and management.
  • Extensive experience in risk management and mitigation strategies to enhance service stability.
  • Strong proficiency in automation tools for optimizing IT service transition processes.
  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple transitions in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • ITIL Certification.
