Role Description
• Monitor and manage ETL jobs in a production environment to ensure they run on schedule and without failure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data integration and ETL processes, including errors, performance bottlenecks, and data inconsistencies.
• Perform root cause analysis of ETL job failures, data discrepancies, and other production issues, and take corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Work with data engineers and developers to address complex production problems and implement solutions.
• Ensure that ETL jobs are completed successfully by monitoring system alerts and notifications and taking necessary actions to prevent downtime or errors.
• Respond to support tickets and production incidents related to ETL processes in a timely manner, ensuring minimal downtime or impact to business operations.
• Ensure that data quality is maintained by validating the data at each stage of the ETL pipeline (from source to target).
• Conduct data reconciliation and data validation to ensure data consistency and correctness between source and target systems.
• Work or assist on performance tuning to improve job efficiency and reduce processing time.
• Participate in post-incident reviews and contribute to continuous improvement efforts in the ETL production environment.
Required Skill Set
• Good years of experience in ETL production support, data integration, or data engineering in a production environment.
• Experience with ETL tools - SAP BODS, Informatica Power Center, IICS is preferred as current production system uses these
• Hands-on experience with job scheduling and monitoring tools such as CAWA, Control-M, Autosys, or equivalent.
• Solid experience in troubleshooting and resolving issues in a production data pipeline environment.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, with the ability to write and optimize queries for troubleshooting and validation.
• Experience with data validation, data reconciliation, and data quality monitoring.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and architecture.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms and cloud-based ETL processes is a plus.
• Experience with log file analysis and automated alerting systems for monitoring ETL processes
