At TekRek, we're hiring on behalf of a purpose-driven organization in the health and wellbeing space. This enterprise is leading transformational work that blends coverage and care into one unified vision-using data to deliver real-world impact across Canada.

As Director of Data Engineering & Analytics, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping enterprise data strategy and fostering a culture of self-service analytics, strong governance, and data-enabled decision-making. You'll lead a central data function and work closely with senior leadership to unlock the full potential of data across the business.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop and execute a company-wide data strategy aligned with long-term business goals.
  • Lead and grow a high-impact data team spanning data engineering, analytics, and governance.
  • Drive the delivery of data programs and ensure integration across business functions.
  • Promote data democratization through scalable, secure self-service platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and privacy regulations, particularly in regulated sectors.
  • Serve as a thought leader in data strategy, tools, and best practices-internally and externally.
  • Collaborate with executive stakeholders to embed data into all areas of the business.

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience in data leadership, strategy, or analytics roles.
  • 5+ years managing cross-functional data teams in complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Proven success delivering enterprise data strategies that drive measurable outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, engineering, analytics, and BI ecosystems.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) data tools (e.g., BigQuery, Looker, Cloud Composer, etc.).
  • Deep knowledge of data privacy and compliance frameworks (preferably in healthcare or insurance).
  • Excellent communicator, collaborator, and influencer-comfortable engaging at the C-level.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required; Master's or MBA preferred.
