We are looking for an experienced Azure SQL Database Administrator to join our team! As a SQL Server Database Administrator you will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems

Job Title: Azure SQL Database Administrator

Job Type: Full Time/ Contract

Job Location: Toronto

Responsibilities:

Plan, configure, maintain, administrate, tune performance of Microsoft Azure SQL database and Synapse database

Provide database space calculations for the supported database environments

Design and write data loading and/or conversion scripts/stored procedures

Build and test database backup/recovery scripts

Build and test database automation scripts

Prepare database change in DACPAC and develop Azure CI/CD release pipeline to promote DACPAC

Promote database changes through Development, Integration Testing, QA, UAT, Production environments

Perform database administration, monitoring, performance tuning, partitioning, capacity planning etc.

Document and resolve any database problems/issues

Skills Required:

Microsoft SQL Database administration experience

Expert experience with planning, configuring, maintenance, administration, performance tuning of Microsoft Azure SQL database and Synapse database

Demonstrated experience with DACPAC

Experience with SQL server stored procedure development

Experience with Azure build automation using Ansible, Terraform, Packer and VSTS

Expert experience with git for source code version control, including branching, merging and pull requests

Experience with Microsoft Azure technologies, including storage account, file share, Azure key vault, Azure portal, Azure monitoring tools

Experience with CI/CD release pipeline

Nice to have:

Oracle Databases. Administration, monitoring, performance tuning, partitioning, capacity planning, OEM etc.
