Our client, a well-established full-service firm with a robust financial services and business law practice, is seeking a Banking & Financing Lawyer to join their growing North York office. This is a strong opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer to build a long-term career within a team that values collaboration, mentorship, and practical legal solutions.

Whether your background is in non-litigious banking, insolvency, or commercial finance, this role offers exposure to high-quality files and the chance to work directly with major banks, trustees, private lenders, and corporate borrowers.

What You'll Be Doing

• Advising banks and lenders on compliance, operations, and risk management

• Representing trustees, receivers, and debtors in insolvency and restructuring matters

• Leading and supporting a variety of complex financing transactions, including:

- Secured and unsecured lending

- Asset-based and equipment financing

- Inventory and floor plan arrangements

- Real estate and construction lending

- Letters of credit and commercial paper

• Working cross-functionally with Corporate and Litigation teams on integrated mandates

What We're Looking For

• 3-10 years of experience in banking, insolvency, or commercial finance law

• Solid understanding of debtor-creditor law and financial regulatory frameworks

• Strong transactional drafting, structuring, and negotiation skills

• A practical, business-oriented mindset and strong client relationship skills
