One of our clients, a major oil and gas company, has tasked us with finding a Rig Supervisor to work on a 6-month contract with high possibility of renewal in Cold Lake, AB on a 14-14 rotation.

The Drilling Site Representative (DSR) serves as the primary Company representative on the rig site, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of drilling and completion operations. This role oversees contractor performance, upholds well control standards, and acts as the key liaison between rig personnel, engineering teams, and third-party service providers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Safety & Compliance

Ensure adherence to Safety, Security, Health, and Environmental (SSHE) policies.

Conduct and document safety drills, audits, and risk assessments.

Enforce Operations Integrity Management System (OIMS) standards (if applicable).

2. Operational Supervision

Monitor daily rig operations to ensure compliance with approved drilling/completion programs.

Verify well control procedures (BOP tests, kick detection, emergency response).

Implement Management of Change (MOC) for any procedural deviations.

3. Logistics & Coordination

Order and manage equipment, materials, and third-party services.

Coordinate personnel rotations and transport logistics.

4. Reporting & Communication

Generate daily drilling reports (DDRs) and incident reports.

Liaise between rig crew, office-based engineers, and geologists.

5. Emergency Response

Lead onsite response to well control incidents, spills, or emergencies.

Ensure all personnel are trained on H2S, firefighting, and evacuation procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Mandatory:

IWCF Well Control Certification (Supervisor Level or higher) or Second Line.

Experience in rig supervisory roles (e.g., Company Man, Drilling Supervisor).

Technical Skills:

Proficient in WellView, OpenWells, or similar reporting tools.

Familiarity with MPD, HPHT wells, and deepwater operations (as needed).

Understanding of torque/drag analysis and pore pressure monitoring.
