Senior Admin/Network Infrastructure Analyst

The Infrastructure Analyst will provide second-level support and beyond including systems admin/network infrastructure administration to a medium-sized business in support of approximately 250 dispersed users. This person will join an existing small team (2) of support pros who aggregately provide general support covering the helpdesk when required and 2nd-3rd level support and sys/network support.

We are seeking a strong generalist who is capable and willing to jump in anywhere along the support continuum with strong technical capabilities at all levels.

Must-Have Skills and Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in Technical Support including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level infrastructure support
  • 8+ years of responsibility for Windows system support and administration
  • Good understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP
  • Experience supporting Citrix remote access
  • Experience administering backups
  • Expertise in VMware technologies, including vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, security principles, and best practices (this role places emphasis on network administration particularly when it comes to network security.)
  • Heavy emphasis on communication and collaboration skills and the ability to multitask
  • Desire to work on-call on a rotational basis
  • Attention to detail, organized, thorough, and committed to continuous improvement
  • A team player who takes pride in client satisfaction

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • SQL, Oracle, and Microsoft Dynamics365 support
  • MCSE, MCP, ITIL certifications
  • A related technical degree or diploma

Typical Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide second-level support to internal clients across the US and Canada via phone, walk-up, email, IM, and ticket system
  • Support Windows Active Directory and Office 365 administration
  • Daily administration of Windows hosts and virtual machines
  • Manage small to medium infrastructure projects, including upgrades, new services, and service changes with end-user impacts
  • Shared 24/7 On-Call duties, with corporate mobile devices provided
  • Document and support application migrations
  • Occasionally deploy and relocate printers, desk stations, and network cabling
  • Coordinate phone system moves, adds, and changes via third-party
  • Support SQL and Oracle queries and user administration
  • Support GITC audit requests

This person will have the opportunity to contribute to enterprise-wide upgrade projects involving (for example) vulnerability assessments, augmenting security controls and infrastructure and implementing new AI tools.

The company offers an attractive employment compensation package including a competitive base salary of approx $120-130K, plus a 10% bonus, RRSP contribution, paid vacation, paid benefits, extra vacation days, flex days and more! The company also provides a training budget for related learning.

This role can be offered as a permanent or a contract role. If contract, the idea is to flip into permanent employment after an initial (roughly) 6-month period. Hourly rate TBD.

This is an onsite opportunity located in downtown Calgary.
