The Job!
As the Plant Superintendent, you will lead a team of 3 supervisors and 40+ unionized workers to ensure smooth operations in the Processing department. Your role will focus on optimizing safety, quality, and productivity while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team to drive safety, efficiency, and quality
- Oversee all plant operations in the absence of the Assistant Plant Manager
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, proactively identifying and mitigating workplace hazards
- Maintain and enforce quality control measures, including safety and good housekeeping standards
- Set and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) for safety, product quality, and operational efficiency
- Implement procedures to minimize the risk of producing non-conforming products
- Coach and mentor supervisors and employees, fostering engagement and teamwork
- Develop and execute effective labor, equipment, and material scheduling plans
- Spearhead process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and operational compliance
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive success across departments
- Administer collective agreements and company policies to ensure fair and efficient operations
What You Bring to the Job
- Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in a relevant field preferred, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience in operations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Union experience-collective agreements, HR, performance management, corrective action
Expected compensation: $92,000.00 - 95,000.00 CAD
