Our client is a fast-growing custom furniture manufacturer based in Toronto. They specialize in creating high-quality, bespoke furniture. Due to high growth, they have an immediate need for a proactive and adaptable Quality Manager to ensure their furniture meets the highest standards of craftsmanship and quality. This role will be responsible for maintaining exceptional quality standards across all of their products, managing post-sale services, and supporting both their design and manufacturing teams. This role requires a deep understanding of furniture construction, a commitment to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Review: Inspect and review production and factory floor photos for seating and case goods, cross-referencing against shop drawings, finishes, and construction standards to ensure quality benchmarks are met.
- Post-Sale Service Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for post-sale services. Coordinate with clients to address concerns and resolve issues. Oversee troubleshooting and execution with their office in China.
- Design Support: Collaborate with the Design Department on complex shop drawings, particularly for intricate case goods. Provide expertise in carpentry, finishes, and furniture construction.
- Field Support: Travel across the US and Canada to assist with installations, post-service support, and other on-site needs.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in furniture or carpentry, with expertise in: Furniture construction techniques; Case goods and upholstery manufacturing processes; Materials, finishes, and quality standards.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate across departments and time zones.
- Proficiency in interpreting and working with shop drawings.
- Strong problem-solving mindset.
- Willingness to travel frequently across North America.
