Exciting Opportunity: Senior Project Administrator - Ottawa (Remote with Occasional On-site)

Stafingo seeks a highly experienced Senior Project Administrator with proven leadership capabilities to join Ottawa's prominent public sector organization. This is a full-time, two-year contract opportunity tailored for professionals skilled in managing complex projects, leading teams, and supporting digital transformation initiatives within the public sector environment.

Location: Ottawa, ON (Primarily remote, with occasional in-person meetings as required)

Contract Duration: 2 years (48 weeks per year)

Job Title: Senior Project Administrator (with leadership experience)

Hourly Rate: $35-$45 per hour

About the Position:

As a Senior Project Administrator, you will be a key contributor in coordinating and driving forward initiatives related to data platforms, analytics, and digital solutions. Your leadership experience will be instrumental in overseeing project progress, engaging stakeholders, managing product backlogs, and ensuring deliverables meet strategic objectives. You will work closely with technical teams, stakeholders, and executive management to facilitate successful project outcomes.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to understand, refine, and communicate the overall project vision, goals, and strategic direction.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including roadmaps and schedules, and maintain them throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage and prioritize project backlogs, translating stakeholder requirements into clear, actionable tasks and user stories using project management tools.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement efforts by organizing meetings, gathering requirements, and translating needs into technical specifications.
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams, such as data engineers and analysts, and stakeholders, ensuring alignment and clarity of objectives.
  • Facilitate regular project status meetings, prepare progress reports, and present updates to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and monitor project health to ensure timely and successful delivery.
  • Oversee change management activities, ensuring smooth adoption of new processes and solutions.
  • Support quality assurance activities, including testing, validation, and release planning, to ensure project deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation, including reports, presentations, and project records, for audit and review purposes.
  • Coordinate with team members to remove impediments, foster collaboration, and ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Secondary School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience managing and coordinating complex projects within a government or large organizational setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership in Agile environments, having led at least 6 software or data projects.
  • Experience serving as a Product Owner or similar role in Agile frameworks for a minimum of 4 years, with relevant certifications such as A-CSPO, CSP-PO, or PMP strongly preferred.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a remote setting, with flexibility to attend meetings in Ottawa as needed.
  • Must possess or be eligible for a SECRET security clearance.

Additional Information:

  • Travel expenses related to in-person meetings are covered.
  • There is no requirement for overtime work.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
