Title: Director of Benefits and Travel Insurance

Salary: Competitive

Status: Permanent, Full time

Location: Mississauga, ON (Hybrid)

Responsibilities:

• Benefits Administration:

o Manage the day-to-day operations of the benefit plans of the collective group including

health, dental, vision, disability benefits (STD, LTD), and Life insurance.

o Administer benefits for the collective group ensuring that each member's specific

requirements and expectations are met or exceeded.

o Manage the enrollment, termination, and changes of employee benefits for multiple

members, ensuring accurate and timely processing.

o Implement and manage risk management practices with the goal of managing claim

costs.

• Client Coordination:

o Serve as the primary point of contact for members regarding their benefit plans,

providing exceptional customer service and resolving any issues that arise.

o Maintain strong relationships with participating members, understanding their unique

needs, and ensuring their satisfaction with the benefit administration process.

o Coordinate with client HR teams to ensure smooth integration and ongoing

management of benefit plans. Monitor members' Quarterly claims experience and alert

members with poor claims experience of the potential negative renewal impact.

• Compliance and Reporting:

o Ensure compliance with all federal, provincial, and local regulations related to employee

benefits.

o Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations that may impact member benefit

plans and advise members accordingly.

• Partnership Management:

o Consult with external partners and insurance providers and TPA's to manage benefits

and Travel benefits including negotiation of terms, renewals, and resolving any service

issues.

o Evaluate and recommend changes or enhancements to benefit plans to meet the

evolving needs of individual members.

• Employee Communication and Education:

o Develop and deliver benefits education sessions and materials to ensure employees

across multiple divisions understand their benefits options.

o Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits, eligibility, claims, and other related

topics in a timely and professional manner.

• Plan Design and Analysis:

o Assist in the design and implementation of new benefits programs or changes to existing

plans, tailored to meet the specific needs of each client.

o Analyze benefits trends, cost impacts, and utilization of data to provide strategic

recommendations to clients.

o Monitor and review plan performance and adjust as necessary to optimize client

satisfaction and plan effectiveness.

• Problem Resolution:

o Investigate and resolve complex benefits issues, collaborating closely with clients,

employees, and vendors to ensure satisfactory outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Agents license, CEBS certification (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist).

• Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in benefits administration, with experience managing benefits for multiple clients strongly preferred.

• Comprehensive understanding of group benefits plans, including health, dental, vision,

disability, life insurance, and retirement plans.

• Strong knowledge of provincial and federal benefits-related laws and regulations.

• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive client relationships.

• Proficiency in benefits administration software and MS Office Suite.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

• Diligence and a genuine commitment to delivering high-quality work.
